Tropical American Tree Farms
is proud to be a part of the solution to tropical deforestation.
Our team of professional tropical foresters,
nurserymen and technicians have converted 15 former cattle farms in Costa Rica into
tropical hardwood tree farms. Our farms cover nearly 14,000 acres,
a little more than .1% of the country of Costa Rica.
Land that until a generation ago
was covered with tropical rainforest, before the former owners cleared it to graze cattle,
is once again covered with tropical trees. Only this time the trees are carefully selected
tropical hardwood species, hand-planted in neat rows, and being pruned, cared for, and
groomed for harvest.
We have now planted more than 2
million tropical hardwood trees that will produce more than 100 million
board feet of precious tropical hardwoods over the next 25 years.
